The North Rim Lodge
Famed architect Gilbert Stanley Underwood who also designed lodges at Bryce Canyon and Zion national parks in the late 1920's designed the Grand Canyon Lodge; it burned down in the 1930's and was rebuilt. Today it is a National Historic Landmark, an impressive structure constructed of massive limestone walls, timbered ceilings and expansive views of the canyon.
