The Fort Worth Alliance Air Show will be held at Alliance Airport in Fort Worth Texas on Saturday and Sunday October 11th and 12th, 2008. Gates open at 9AM each day with the air show beginning at 9:30AM and lasting until 4PM or 4:30PM. Admission is free for all. Parking is $20 per vehicle of any size. The United States Army Golden Knights Parachute Team will perform each day. Also in their only North Texas appearance this year the United States Air Force Thunderbirds perform both days at approximately 3PM as the final performance of the day and close the show. Bring the entire family for a day of exciting fun. The kid’s zone includes a free bounce house with other rides ranging from $2-$7. Alliance Airport is on I-35 N in far North Fort Worth. 180,000 people are expected to attend this event which raises money for the USO. Tip: Bring your lawn chair and umbrella if you like for shade but no coolers, outside food or drink allowed. www.allianceairshow.com

It’s a pleasant drive once you get out of the madness of Dallas and Fort Worth. Uneventful until we ran into some rain about an hour east of Amarillo. We checked into our RV Park just before the winds gusted up to 40-50 miles per hour. Not unusual for the Texas Panhandle at this time of year. We will be on the road tomorrow morning for day 2 in this road trip on the way to our volunteer jobs with Petrified Forest National Park and Painted Desert in Northern Arizona. No pictures tonight due to the stormy weather.
