Christmas in Texas State Parks, Lake Mineral Wells State Park and Trailway

Cross Timbers Cowboy Campfire Christmas is the Christmas themed campfire program at Lake Mineral Wells State Park and Trailway taking place on Saturday December 6th from 6PM-730PM.  Bring the whole family to the Lone Star Amphitheater at the park for an evening of cowboy music, poetry and a sing-along.  Cross Timbers is the name of the 11 mile multi-use trail at Lake Mineral Wells State Park and Trailway.  Lake Mineral Wells State Park is located in the Panhandle Plains Region 48 miles west of Fort Worth Texas in Parker County.

On Saturday December 13th, 2008 Fort Richardson State Park and Historic Site will celebrate Christmas beginning with a fishing tournament from 9Am-12N, a visit from Santa at 1PM until 2PM and The Night Before Christmas with Diane Martin featuring her collection of victorian stories, books, antiques and figurines from 2PM-4PM.  Fort Richardson State Park and Historic Site is in the Panhandle Plains Region on US 281 one mile southeast of Jacksboro Texas and 60 miles west of Fort Worth Texas.

Come on out to Goose Island State Park on Saturday December 20th, 2008 from 7PM-8PM for some fun around the campfire.  Bring your s’mores fixin’s and roast those marshmallows while you enjoy hot chocolate and exchange favorite holiday stories about Goose Island.  Join in the singing of Christmas carols from this Texas State Park overlooking Aransas Bay.  Goose Island State park is a Texas coastal park of the Texas Gulf Coast Region in Rockport Texas.

Come out to Tyler State Park with your family on Saturday December 06, 2008 for their 3rd annual Christmas caroling and pineride.  The fragrant fun begins at 5PM with a ride through the park on a bed of pine.  Hot apple cider and cookies will be served and the park store will be open until 8PM for those last minute unique Texas gift purchases.  Tyler State Park is 100 miles east of the Dallas/Forth Worth metroplex in Smith County.  It is located in the Pineywoods Region.

On Saturday December 13th, 2008 from 8AM-1030AM Stephen F. Austin State Park invites you to a pancake breakfast featuring homemade syrup, sausage, juice and coffee with special guest Santa Claus at the head of the table.  The fee for this special Christmas breakfast is $4 per person.   From 6PM-8PM that same day Stephen F. Austin State Park will host a caroling hayride through the park.  Stay to enjoy hot chocolate and cookies after the hayride.  Admission is one canned good per person.  Texas Parks and Wildlife Department places Stephen F. Austin State Park in the Prairies and Lakes Region.  Stephen F. Austin State Park is located near Sealy, Texas approximately 30 miles west of the Houston city limits.
