On Sunday December 14th, 2008 Christmas in the Pines features Christmas cookie decorating, Christmas ornament decorating as well as pine cone and clay crafts to put you in the holiday mood. Hosted by The Friends of the Lost Pines at Bastrop State Park from 1PM-6PM, there will also be a story corner and a visit from Santa from 330PM-530PM. Come out with the family and enjoy the activities and refreshments. The fee for this Christmas event is $2 per adult with children under 12 years of age free of charge. Friday, November 28th, 2008On Saturday November 29th, 2008 from 330PM-730PM the Fanthorp Inn Historic Site invites you to their holiday event Twilight Firelight. Come out and visit the 1850’s stagecoach inn as it comes to life with music, poetry and living history. Ride the stagecoach and wagon from the historic Grimes County Courthouse to the welcoming lanterns of the inn decked out in festive holiday garb. The Fanthorp Inn State Historic Site is in Grimes County 30 miles southeast of Bryan College Station in the small town of Anderson Texas. It is located in the Prairies and Lakes Region.

Friday, November 28th, 2008On Saturday December 6th, 2008 The Beeville Community Chorus will present their Christmas Concert in the chapel of the Spanish Colonial Mission at Goliad State Park, Espiritu Santo de Zuniga. The Beeville Community Chorus performs both nationally and abroad. The December concert at the historic mission has been performed to standing room only crowds for more than 12 years. Goliad State Park is located just south of Goliad Texas on US 83 and 77A in the South Texas Plains Region.

Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy as you listen to their performance at the outdoor amphitheater. Friday, November 28th, 2008Cross Timbers Cowboy Campfire Christmas is the Christmas themed campfire program at Lake Mineral Wells State Park and Trailway taking place on Saturday December 6th from 6PM-730PM. Bring the whole family to the Lone Star Amphitheater at the park for an evening of cowboy music, poetry and a sing-along. Cross Timbers is the name of the 11 mile multi-use trail at Lake Mineral Wells State Park and Trailway. Lake Mineral Wells State Park is located in the Panhandle Plains Region 48 miles west of Fort Worth Texas in Parker County.
