For those who love the outdoors, there is plenty going on at the Texas State Parks this Christmas! Many state parks have some type of Christmas-themed activity going on including hikes, carols, story-tellings, apple cider, cookies, and hot chocolate. Be sure to dress warmly! Here’s a listing of some Christmas events you’ll find around Texas State Parks now through December 10….

Christmas at the Dallas Galleria, Dallas Texas

Santa Claus is in his village at the Dallas Galleria from November 21st 2009 thru December 24th, 2009. Look for him on Level 2 near Saks Fifth Avenue every day during shopping hours. If he is not in the village head over to the Galleria’s Ice Skating Rink. If it is on a Saturday in December 2009 (the 5th, the 12th or the 19th of December) at 5PM he will be on the ice performing back flips. This is the only place to see Santa Missle Toes in action. As you enjoy the skating show feast your eyes on the majestic Christmas Tree rising over the ice skating rink. This Christmas Tree, the country’s tallest indoor Christmas Tree, will enthrall young and old.

Christmas in Texas State Parks, Stephen F. Austin State Park

On Saturday December 13th, 2008 from 8AM-1030AM Stephen F. Austin State Park invites you to a pancake breakfast featuring homemade syrup, sausage, juice and coffee with special guest Santa Claus at the head of the table. The fee for this special Christmas breakfast is $4 per person. From 6PM-8PM that same day Stephen F. Austin State Park will host a caroling hayride through the park. Stay to enjoy hot chocolate and cookies after the hayride. Admission is one canned good per person. Texas Parks and Wildlife Department places Stephen F. Austin State Park in the Prairies and Lakes Region. Stephen F. Austin State Park is located near Sealy, Texas approximately 30 miles west of the Houston city limits.
