But did you know that there is another, though not as well known National Park in the state of Texas, the Guadalupe Mountains National Park near El Paso Texas.  There are also – two National Historic Sites, Fort Davis and Palo Alto Battlefield - two National Historical Parks, Lyndon B. Johnson and San Antonio Missions - two National Recreation Areas, Amistad and Lake Meredith - a National Seashore, Padre Island - a National Preserve, Big Thicket - a National Monument, Alibates Flint Quarries - a Wild and Scenic River, Rio Grande, and – a National Memorial, Chamizal.  The total National Park Service Areas in the state of Texas is thirteen!
